Mystery of Luang Prabang Tour 3 days

3 days 2 nights tour is designed for your short stay in Laos. By visiting the ancien temples, buddha cave, you will be immersed in a town deeply tied to tradition, religion and enchanted by the gentle local people.

Upon arrival at Luang Prabang Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our local driver and Laotian guide who will take you to the hotel for check-in.

Luang Prabang is a must-see destination on your trip to Laos. It is a site surrounded by magnificent mountains with a healthy atmosphere and which has been classified by UNESCO on the list of world cultural heritages for thirty temples and buildings with a maximum of 2 floors. It is also an ancient capital and the old Royal City. The first impression of tourists on Luang Prabang is the beauty of the landscapes and architecture, combined with the rigors of daily life.

Begin your afternoon with the Wat Aham temple (Monastery of the Open Heart) which is the shape of a tent standing on a white and rectangular base that seems to be made of marble with a pointed, tiled and gigantic three-tiered roof. Next door is the neighboring Wat Wisunarat temple, one of the oldest temples in Luang Prabang, whose architecture is simple, except for its metal roofs having more details of decoration. Before returning to your hotel, we do some physical exercise by climbing up the top of Phou Si Mount to enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view on the UNESCO city.

In the evening, free walk to the Hmong night market, located at Sisavangvong Street where you can find jewelries, silks, scarves, and more that are more authentic than those in big city markets.

Morning option: At about 05:00-5h30, the monks walk barefoot in the streets of Luang Prabang in search of offerings. If you wish to attend this original parade with the locals (only in Laos), you should get up early.

After breakfast, you will be picked up by your Laotian guide and driver who will take you to local markets: the Morning Market and the Phou Si Market. These markets are infinitely populous and hectic with several edible and various products. By visiting them, you will have the opportunity to observe the dealings of local residents.

Then you cross Mekong River to village Ban Xienmienne. Visit Wat Chompet temples and enjoy a panoramic view to Mekong river from high point. After Wat Long Khun temple, ferry back to  town. 

Begin your afternoon with the discovery of Wat Xieng Thong (Monastery of the Golden City), one of the higher symbols of Buddhism in Laos. This place is built in a particular architectural style of Laos, with a curved roof that nearly touches the ground. Afterwards, explore the Royal Palace Museum is an ideal place to study or learn some history, and the Royal lifestyle of Laos. The architecture of the building is a mixture of French Beaux –Art style and traditional Laos style, making it not only old, but also contemporary.

In the beginning of the evening, you will attend Baci (also called Soukhouan) meaning in Laotian ‘The call of the soul’, an interesting and calm traditional Laotian ceremony that is enveloped in an infinitely spiritual silence. The Baci is given on special events like a marriage, a homecoming, a welcome, a birth, or one of the annual festivals. During the ceremony, each participant will tie a string around the wrist. This will bring you luck, happiness and prosperity!

After breakfast at the hotel, join the pier for a cruise on the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Sanctuary Caves, which were formed thousands of years ago and in recent times have attracted Buddhist pilgrims, who have decorated the caves with thousands of Buddhist statues and paraphernalia, over 4000 at last count. On the way, just contemplate the beautiful scenery on the two shores of the Mekong River and stop at Ban Xang Khong village, where the guide will provide you with information about silk and Sa paper production process. At the end of your visit, transfer to the city centre.

Depending on flight schedules, you will transfer to Luang Prabang Airport with your driver and guide before boarding the aircraft for your departure flight.
