The city tour begins with a visit to the magnificent Vat Si Saket temple, the oldest Buddhist temple in the heart of the capital. Built in the Thai style, the temple’s sanctuary is surrounded by a typical cloister with beautifully carved doors. In its inner facade, there is a gallery of nearly 7,000 Buddha statues of different sizes and shapes.

You will then pass through the Emerald Buddha temple - Haw Phra Kaew. What makes this worship special is that there is no monk living there. Flanking the steps at the entrance is two stone guardian dragons, and it has a nice landscaped garden.

Your half day tour in Vientiane finised by visiting the Supreme Stupa of Pha That Luang, one of the 10 most famous and important Buddhist temples in the world. As Pha That Luang is the national symbol, its image is printed on paper money as well as on the national emblem of the country.
