Visit Nong Khiaw view point - Phadeng Peak

Located in Wat Ban Sop Houn 50 of the Nong Khiaw town - a small village in the mountains area of Laos, Nong Khiaw Viewpoint is one of the major attractions in the entire region. Known as Phadeng Peak, it’s around 150 km – 3 hour drive from North of Luang Prabang. You need to hire a taxi to reach this place.

One of the best visual perspectives of the natural landscape in Laos is from this Viewpoint at Nong Khiaw. The view from the top was incredible! The clouds were hovering just above the town and the mountains surrounding you were peaking through the top!

If you trek 1h30 to the top of the mountain from the tiny Nong Khiaw village, you will see a panoramic view of the Nam Ou river flowing. You also find an iconic view of tiny Lao villages surrounded by mountains. Since this is a natural setting, plan your round-trips wisely to the top as you will be hiking through forest and you will need a flashlight once the sunset.

There is also no place to buy water along the trek, so plan ahead with proper hydration and sturdy shoes. Furthermore, if you would rather enjoy the view from below, boat trips are available along the river.

Nong Khiaw viewpoint should be on the must visit places during your trip in Luang Prabang, Laos.
