Upon arrival at Luang Prabang Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our local driver and Laotian guide who will take you to the hotel for check-in.

Luang Prabang is a must - see destination on your trip to Laos. It is a site surrounded by magnificent mountains with a healthy atmosphere and which has been classified by UNESCO on the list of world cultural heritages for thirty temples and buildings with a maximum of 2 floors. The first impression of tourists of Luang Prabang is the beauty of the landscapes and architecture, combined with the rigors of daily life.

After breakfast at the hotel, ferry to other side of Mekong river to Ban Xiengmien, a very quiet village where the Kmus and Lao Loums reside. Here, you start trekking (~2h) around the local villages. Stop on the way to chitchat with local people and observe their local life. End of trekking, you will visit the ancient temple Wat Long Khoun, which is located in jungle. Then cruise to Ban Chan, a traditional pottery-making village where you can watch pots being hand- thrown and fired in earthen ovens. This is certainly a memorable experience that takes you off the beaten path of Luang Prabang.

Cruise back in town for lunch. Then visit Wat Mai, a temple renowned for its golden bas-relief and the most photographed temple, Wat Xieng Thong, located at the end of peninsular closed to the confluence of Mekong and Khan River.

After breakfast at the hotel, begin your off the beaten track tour in Laos by trekking (3-4h) from Ban Long Laos village to Kuang Si waterfall:

Your private guide will meet you at your hotel lobby and then drive to Ban Long Lao, a village where the Khamu and Hmong ethnic groups live together. You will be able to observe the lifestyles of two culturally very different minority groups and see how despite their differences they manage to work together on a day to day basis and even sharing the same school.

Afterward, your trekking (~3-4 hours /depending on your ability to walk) brings you to one of the many springs which feed Kuang Si waterfalls, a beautiful pool full of sacred fish can be seen here. Picnic lunch on spot. The Kuang Si falls will amaze you with their beauty. It is a set of natural pools with turquoise water. You can swim there. End of visit, return to LuangPrabang by vehicle in late afternoon.

Note: In case of raining, the path will be slippery. The trek will be difficult to do. The program could be modified on site by our guide.

After breakfast at the hotel, start your day tour in Luang Prabang by driving to the Elephant Village Camp, a center with a focus on the protection and rehabilitation of elephants in Laos. Upon arrival, participate in a short briefing about elephants. Then, get up close and personal with elephants. Enjoy the impressive experience of a 1 kmbareback elephant ride about 25 minutes! (One person per elephant). Lunch at elephant village on the bank of Nam Khan river.

In the afternoon, after crossing the Nam Khan River, you start a easy trek (~ 1.5 hours) to Tad Sea falls (In dry season, you may not see water at Tad Sea). After short break, you take a small boat to the village of Ban En where the van is waiting for you to return in town.

After breakfast at the hotel, this morning, transfer to the pier where you board a traditional long trail boat, for a relaxing cruise upstream on the mighty Mekong River. Enjoy stunning mountain scenery and witness the simple rural lifestyles.

Stop at Ban Xang Hai, here you can see the process of making lao-Lao, the country’s beloved rice whiskey second only to BeerLao in popularity. You will reach Pak Ou caves at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Ou Rivers. In these 2 caves are displayed hundreds of sacred centuries-old Buddha images which are the object of pilgrimages during the Lao New Year festivities around mid-April.

After lunch at local restaurant, driving to Nong Khiew. Arrival and check in your hotel for resting.

After breakfast at the hotel, embark on small boat for cruise (~1h40) on Nam Ou river to Ban Hat Saphey, a Khmu village where you start a short trek (30mins) to Ban Sojam village. Our guide will explain about local life and culture. Lunch on spot.

In the afternoon, cruise to Sophone village where you trek (~2h30) along Nam Ou river to an authentic village Ban Hoeuy Hoi. After spending time in this village, cruise back to Nong Khiew.

After breakfast at the hotel, trek (1-2h) to the top of Phadeng Peak where you can enjoy the incredible views above the clouds. In case of raining, the path will be slippery. The trek will be difficult to do. The program could be modified on site by our guide.

Then, visit historical Pathok cave and a local school (closed on weekend) to chitchat with local students.

After lunch, driving from NongKhiew to Luang Prabang. On the way, stop to visit Ban Nayang village. End of visit, continue to transfer to town and check in hotel in Luang Prabang.
