Exotic Northern Laos Travel 10 days

After breakfast, drive up by 4x4 along the Nam Phak River and admiring green rice fields, mountains, local people working on their farms, cultivating their lands...

Arrive the drop off point wehre you start your treking tour to remoted village along the small green trail. Lunch at Ban Phavie village. After village tour, contunue treking to visit the isolated waterfall Houay Kha and to the pristine forest. Then walk back to village where the vehicle is waiting and transfer you to Muang Xay. Arrival and check in hotel

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Nong Khiew. Stop to visit Ban Songcha village. Lunch at local restaurant.

Arrival in Nong Khiew, take your time to visit Pa Thok cave and Nong Khiaw bridge. Then check in your hotel for resting.

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Vieng Thong, a small town in Laos. Arrival at Vieng Thong and check in local guesthouse

Then you can take a nice walk to see a dam and several ethnic villages in this area.

Today, visit local market before driving to Phonsavanh while admire beautiful landscape. Along the way, stop to visit water streams and Tham Pui cave. Lunch on the way.

After breakfast, get transferred to visit Plain of Jars.

Site one is the most popular, due to its proximity to the centre of town, but one could argue it’s the least interesting of the three despite having the largest single jar and the largest number of jars. 

Site two is much further out of town and requires a ride along 11 kilometres of rough dirt roads. Although the roads around here are terrible, it gives you one of the better glimpses into rural Lao life in the area. The primary location of the jars at this site is on top of a small hill shaded by large trees.
Site three is located not too far from site two and is arguably the most picturesque of the lot. Rolling hills, bomb craters, rice fields and plenty of cattle are what greet visitors to site three.

Afterward we’ll take you to explore Muang Khoun, the former royal capital of the Xieng Khouang region. Though the town was heavily bombed during the war, a few colonial French buildings remain, along with several temples and the famous stupa tower of That Foun, built in 1576, and Wat Pievat. It’s said that That Foun was built over the ashes of Lord Buddha which were brought to Laos from India.

After breakfast, visit the lively open market before travelling to Luang Prabang where you will stay for three nights. En-route stop at Wat Ban Phong and local villages Hmong, Thai Lu. Upon arrival, check in your hotel and free time then for your own discovery.

Luang Prabang is a must - see destination on your trip to Laos. It is a site surrounded by magnificent mountains with a healthy atmosphere and which has been classified by UNESCO on the list of world cultural heritages for thirty temples and buildings with a maximum of 2 floors. The first impression of tourists of Luang Prabang is the beauty of the landscapes and architecture, combined with the rigors of daily life.

Start your day tour in Luang Prabang by driving a scooter to the Elephant Village, a center with a focus on the protection and rehabilitation of elephants in Laos. Upon arrival, you will meet the camp manager and hear about the work carried out by a team of dedicated staff and volunteers in caring for the elephants. Next, climb aboard an elephant for a jungle walk (25mins, one person per elephant, on the neck of the elephant).

Receive your basic mahout training on how to control an elephant just like a mahout! After lunch, take your own elephant down to the Nam Khan river for an exhilarating and once in a lifetime bathing experience!

After relaxing time at Tad Sea waterfall, back to town by scooter.

Today is free and easy day in Luang Prabang.

You discover this charming town by your own. Suggested sightseeings: all highlights temples (Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Mai, Wat Visoun, Wat Aham...) or Pak Ou cave, or Kuang Si waterfall
